Huskies 2nd After Day 1 at Regionals

ctpan 150TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The top-seeded Washington men's golf team combined to shoot a season-low 12-under 276 in first round action of the NCAA Regional in Tallahassee, Fla. on Thursday and sits second on the team leaderboard - Eight out of 13 teams in the field fired under-par rounds at Golden Eagle Golf and Country Club, led by North Florida's round of 272 (-16). The third-seeded Osprey's are four strokes ahead of Washington and five better than host Florida State heading into Friday's second round - Live Scoring

Thornton Gets Win at Overlake

brian thirnton 150 1Meridian Valley Country Club teaching professional Brian Thornton took just 66 whaps to navigate around the Overlake Golf & Country Club earlier this week - His score was one better than the 67 posted by Brandon Bemis of Sand Point Country Club, earning the win for Thornton and $300 for his efforts - Mike Kerns of Riverbend GC edged Scott McBeath of Lake Padden GC to win the Amateur Gross division - The team competition saw a four-way tie at the top with all four squads pocketing $248 - Full Results
