Highlighted by senior Nick Mandell's eighth-place finish, the Washington State men's golf team finished fourth (+4, 868) at the Southwestern Invitational, Tuesday, at the North Ranch Country Club.
After shooting 9-over in the final round, WSU finished 15 strokes ahead of No. 15 San Diego State, which tied for eighth. Host-school Pepperdine finished first with a three-round total of 843 (-21), while No. 5 USC took second place (-5, 859). Lipscomb rounded out the top-three (+2, 866), just two strokes ahead of the Cougars.
Mandell, who shot 3-under through three rounds, recorded his second top-10 finish of the season. The senior tied his career-best single-round score of 4-under par in the first round, and finished seven strokes back of tournament-champion Sahith Theegala of Pepperdine - Full Field Results:
