Phil & Tiger Both in Action This Week

tiger_150cFor over a decade they were the top two players in the world - Tiger Woods dominated the world golf stage and Phil Mickelson amazed with his talent and bravado - My how times have changed - As the 2012 golf season begins to heat up this week with the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego along with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in the Middle East, it's a much different landscape at the top of the heap - The top four players in the world rankings are Europeans with Steve Stricker (5), Webb Simpson (6), and Dustin Johnson (9) the lone Americans able to crack the top 10 - It sounds odd, but this week world #15 Phil Mickelson will tee it up in San Diego and world #25 Tiger Woods makes his much anticipated 2012 debut in Abu Dahbi - Phil is coming off his opening event last week at the Humana Challenge (formerly the Bob Hope) were he ho-hummed his way to a T-49 finish that saw him 14 shots off the winning number - Word from the desert sands is that during his practice rounds, Tiger has looked much more like world #25 than the beast that once ruled all of golfdom - We'll see, but Bob Dylan comes to mind as "the times, they are a-changin'" - Whether the changin' is merely a temporary glitch in the world order, or a complete purging of those once mighty, stay tuned as act 1 begins tomorrow at 1:00 AM and Noon on the Golf Channel - For TV air-times; Click Here
