Bear Mountain Ranch Golf Course
Created as a recreational centerpiece for the community, the Bear Mountain Ranch Golf Course is a championship level 18-hole public play course providing residents and visiting golfers with upscale services and amenities.
Opened in 2005 and was ranked as one of the top six new golf courses in the United States, by PGA Professionals. The course capitalizes on the rolling terrain and natural plateaus, providing golfers with panoramic views and a spectacular golf experience. In addition to the lush fairways and bent grass greens, it is not unusual to spot a deer and other wildlife on any of the holes.
I've played Bear Mountain Ranch only once and look forward to playing there again soon - I had heard it was a bit tricky the first time around, and I had apparently heard correctly - Big elevation changes, several blind tee shots and if there is any wind blowing, it swirls and appears to come from no particular direction - It's one of those courses that after playing it once, you'd like to go again armed with a little course knowledge - Otherwise the overall conditioning was above average and the greens rolled medium fast and true - The best feature of Bear Mountain Ranch however is its location - It sits perched atop a hillside overlooking Lake Chelan and offers some of the best views of any golf course in the state - I'm talking post card type stuff - A well appointed pro shop and full service restaurant complete the experience - Bear Mountain is certainly worth a play and it makes my top-25 favorites list of Washington golf courses
Due to the winter months in the Chelan area, the course is generally open from April to the end of October - Bear Mountain Ranch easily accommodates golfers of all experience levels by offering five different tee boxes on each hole - Green fees include a golf cart with a state-of-the-art GPS system - For more information or to reserve your tee time; CLICK HERE
